NAIROBI CITY DAY TOUR
Your Nairobi City Day Tour commences at 09h00. One of our knowledgable guides will accompany you on this walking/driving sightseeing tour. The city of Nairobi was founded by the colonial authorities of British East Africa in 1899. The name “Nairobi” comes from the Masai phrase “Enkare Nairobi”, which translates to "Cool Water", a reference to the Nairobi River which flows through the city. The best time for Nairobi city excursion is the mid-morning when the road traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city are less. Our day tour will cover the Central Business District (CBD).
Day tours cover the modern city of Nairobi and a colourful Nairobi city market, Parliament Buildings, Kenyatta International Convention Centre (the landmark of Nairobi (KICC)). We will also visit the Nairobi railway station museum as well as the renowned National Museum where there are spellbinding displays of the early man tribal regalia and flora and fauna of Kenya. Enjoy a midday lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, located 10km from the city centre of Nairobi in the suburban area called Langata. After lunch, we finish our tour by visiting the bomas of Kenya, a tourist villag in Langata. The bomas display the traditional villages belonging to several different Kenyan tribes and are home to one of the largest auditoriums in Africa. You will be back at your hotel by 15h00.
