The activities are on foot. It’s a great day out, and the walking guided tour takes approximately 2 hours. We explore the famous colourful African village of Mto wa Mbu and the surrounding areas of Lake Manyara, where you can stop over to buy souvenirs and explore the area and interact with locals. The benefits from Mto wa Mbu’s community tourism initiative are invested back into community development projects, providing jobs to locals, including women, in an innovative and sustainable way that celebrates local culture and heritage, boosting the economies of villages whilst also helping with development projects for sanitation goals in the local schools, along with medical stations. This fertile land with ever-flowing water sources brings 120 tribes together. You will see people selling vegetables and women sitting on the side of the road sifting rice through giant baskets. As a result, this intersection of culture and agriculture brings this divergent community together to live in harmony. You will enjoy listening to the tribes playfully teasing each other about their ways of life. Our journey to this Tanzanian village ends with the perfect ingredients to prepare a home-cooked meal testing authentic African food. We shall enjoy our meal together while learning about African tribe traditions.

At midday, we drive back to the City of Arusha at the end of the tour, dropping you at Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar Island or Dar es Salaam, or we proceed to transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, 55Km another 1hr 30min drive at 17:30hr, for your onward international flight back home.
